Where Are the Moree’s Going?
Balloons can be such a fascinating thing when placed in the hands of a child. Without air they are empty until filled and if let go, they will soar like an eagle. They come in all shapes and sizes and they can be pretty tender at times. If released usually the child will become sad. You see, balloons remind me of people in so many ways. People are just empty shells without the breath of the Holy Spirit and if let go they will soar like eagles. People come in all shapes and sizes and they can be pretty tender at times. And when released it can be difficult to see them go…
So what does this bizarre discussion about balloons have to do with the Moree’s? Just like a balloon we all must be released to soar like an eagle.
Mary, Joah, Jaela, and I will be leaving the Forest Hill Church of God on December 15, 2013 to move to Jackson, MS as the new State Youth and Christian Education Directors. As a balloon, we have been held in the caring and loving hands of so many individuals at the Forest Hill Church. After accepting the position almost seven (7) years ago here at Forest Hill, we have had some amazing things happen in our lives and ministry. We have definitely grown in our leadership abilities and ministry calling, not to mention that we have grown as a family, adding Jaela Elise to the picture March 2, 2007, just one month after moving to Mobile, AL. With the growth that has taken place, we have fulfilled this season of ministry.
Ministry is such an interesting thing and being let go out of the caring hands of our Forest Hill family to soar with the eagles will be an emotional journey as well as a journey of Faith. We accept this call to MS with arms wide open to love and lead so many dear friends in the ministry, yet we also know there is more room to fill these ole balloons. So we are excited for this new season of ministry as we transition from this point to the next. But we know that God is in control and the wonderful state of MS (HailState) will welcome us with open arms as we seek to serve the great churches in the state.
Please continue to pray for us as we transition in ministry. Our children need to be lifted up as well as Mary and I. This is new to us all and we will need your prayers and support as we accept what God has in store for each of us.
